Best Ice-Type Pokémon

When searching for the 'best' Ice-type, raw power is often the first metric we turn to. In this arena, a few Pokémon stand head and shoulders above the rest. The legendary Dragon/Ice Pokémon, Kyurem, is a prime contender, especially when fused into its Black or White forms, which boast some of the highest offensive stats in the game. More recently, the pseudo-legendary Baxcalibur has carved out its place with a formidable Attack stat and a great offensive typing. Not to be outdone, Glastrier, one of Calyrex's steeds, offers pure, unadulterated physical might, albeit with very low Speed. While offense often gets the spotlight, a solid defense can be just as crucial. The Ice type is defensively frail, with four common weaknesses, but some Pokémon leverage their stats to become incredible walls. The original legendary bird, Articuno, has long been known for its high Special Defense and HP, allowing it to weather special attacks that would fell lesser Pokémon. Similarly, the legendary golem Regice boasts one of the highest Special Defense stats in existence, making it a dedicated special wall. While they may not hit as hard as the titans mentioned earlier, their ability to absorb damage and disrupt an opponent's strategy makes them invaluable assets for a defensively-oriented team.
