How to Evolve Charcadet

To evolve Charcadet, you must use a specific evolution item directly from your bag. Use the Auspicious Armor to evolve it into Armarouge, or the Malicious Armor to evolve it into Ceruledge. There is no level requirement, and the evolution can be triggered at any time.

Evolving Charcadet relies entirely on using the correct item. You do not need to grind experience points or reach a specific level threshold.

• Armarouge: Requires the Auspicious Armor. Yields a Fire/Psychic type with high Special Attack and physical bulk.
• Ceruledge: Requires the Malicious Armor. Yields a Fire/Ghost type with high physical Attack and built-in recovery via Bitter Blade.

Both forms excel during standard story playthroughs. They easily handle gym leaders and elite challenges thanks to their strong signature moves. However, neither form holds up in serious competitive play. Their awkward speed tiers and heavy vulnerability to entry hazards keep them out of modern standard formats.

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the evolution process maintains the item-based requirement. You must secure the specific armor items within Lumiose City.

1. Locate the evolution item vendor or crafting station in the central Lumiose district.
2. Exchange your gathered materials or Pokédollars for either the Auspicious Armor or the Malicious Armor.
3. Open your satchel and navigate to the items pocket.
4. Select the armor and apply it directly to Charcadet in your party.

The evolution triggers instantly upon using the item. You can complete this process as soon as you obtain the required armor, regardless of your current progression in the city reconstruction.

The Paldea region splits the evolution items between the two game versions. You must gather specific materials from wild Pokémon to trade with an NPC in Zapapico.

1. Travel to the town of Zapapico in the eastern part of Paldea.
2. Locate the NPC standing near a small fountain.
3. If playing Scarlet, trade 10 Bronzor Fragments for the Auspicious Armor.
4. If playing Violet, trade 10 Sinistea Chips for the Malicious Armor.
5. Open your bag, select the armor, and use it on Charcadet.

To obtain the opposite version's evolution, you must trade with another player. Have them attach the exclusive armor to a random Pokémon and trade it to your game.

Pokémon GO replaces the armor items with a Buddy-based combat challenge. You must complete specific battle requirements to unlock each evolution path.

1. Set Charcadet as your active Buddy Pokémon.
2. To unlock Armarouge, defeat 30 Psychic-type Pokémon in battle.
3. To unlock Ceruledge, defeat 30 Ghost-type Pokémon in battle.
4. Navigate to the Pokémon's summary screen and spend 50 Candy to trigger the evolution.

You do not need to defeat these Pokémon using Charcadet itself. It simply needs to remain your active Buddy while your other Pokémon handle the fights.

Players frequently encounter a few specific roadblocks when trying to evolve this Pokémon. The most common mistake involves how the armor items are handled.

Giving the item instead of using it: Charcadet will not evolve if it is simply holding the armor. You must select the item from your bag and press 'Use' on the Pokémon.

Waiting for a level up: Gaining levels or using Rare Candies will never trigger this evolution. Stop grinding experience and focus on obtaining the required armor.

Wrong materials in Paldea: Ensure you are hunting the correct wild Pokémon for your game version. Scarlet players wasting time hunting Sinistea will never get the prompt from the Zapapico NPC.
