How to Evolve Dolliv

To evolve Dolliv into Arboliva, you must raise it to level 35. This is a standard level-up evolution requiring no specific items, trading mechanics, or time of day. You can reach this level through standard trainer battles, wild encounters, or by feeding it Exp. Candies.

Evolving Dolliv follows one of the most straightforward progression paths in the franchise. You do not need to hunt down rare evolution stones or wait for a specific time of day.

If you catch a Dolliv that is already above level 35 in the wild, you only need to level it up one additional time to trigger the evolution into Arboliva. Using any available experience-boosting items will also instantly trigger the prompt.

Paldea offers multiple optimized routes to push Dolliv to level 35 quickly. The most efficient method bypasses traditional grinding entirely by utilizing the region's Tera Raid system. Farming 3-star and 4-star Tera Raids yields a high volume of experience items.

1. Complete Tera Raids to stockpile Exp. Candy M and Exp. Candy L.
2. Open your bag and feed the candies directly to Dolliv until it hits level 35.
3. Allow the evolution animation to play out without pressing the B button.

If you prefer traditional grinding, the Let's Go feature allows for rapid experience gain. Send Dolliv out using the R button to auto-battle wild Pokémon in mass outbreaks. Water-type outbreaks, such as Marill or Golduck, provide excellent experience yields due to Dolliv's type advantage.

Be aware of the strict limitation tied to the Let's Go mechanic. A Pokémon cannot evolve from experience gained via an auto-battle. If Dolliv hits level 35 during an auto-battle, it will celebrate but remain a Dolliv. You must initiate a manual battle or use a single Rare Candy to push it over the threshold and trigger the evolution screen.

The mobile mechanics strip away the level requirement entirely, replacing it with a flat resource cost. Evolving Dolliv into Arboliva requires a significant investment of species-specific candy.

1. Accumulate 100 Smoliv Candy.
2. Open your Pokémon storage and select the Dolliv with the highest IVs.
3. Tap the Evolve button and confirm the candy expenditure.

Gathering 100 candies can be tedious outside of Grass-type focused events. Always use Pinap Berries or Silver Pinap Berries when catching the base stage, Smoliv, to double your candy yield. You can also set Dolliv as your active Buddy Pokémon. It requires 3 kilometers of walking to generate a single candy, making Poffins highly recommended to halve the distance requirement.

Players frequently encounter a few specific roadblocks when trying to obtain Arboliva. These issues are easily resolved once identified.
