How to Evolve Drilbur

Drilbur evolves into Excadrill starting at Level 31. There are no special items, time-of-day requirements, or friendship thresholds needed. Simply gain experience through battles, use Rare Candies, or feed it EXP Candies to hit Level 31, and the evolution animation will trigger automatically.

Triggering this evolution relies entirely on standard experience gain. You only need to reach Level 31. However, before rushing to evolve it, Drilbur maintains a distinct competitive presence in the LC tier.

Equipped with an Eviolite, it functions as a premier entry hazard manager. It utilizes Rapid Spin to clear the field while setting up its own Stealth Rock. Abilities like Mold Breaker or Sand Rush make it highly versatile alongside LC partners like Hippopotas or Glimmet. Evolving it trades this LC utility for raw wall-breaking power in higher tiers.

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, the Level 31 requirement remains identical. The fastest approach relies on modern experience farming methods rather than wild grinding.

Using a Rare Candy at Level 30 guarantees an instant evolution without any battle time. If you run a physical sweeping set, consider teaching it Swords Dance and Earthquake immediately after evolving.

The mobile mechanics abandon traditional levels entirely, relying on the standard candy system.
