How to Evolve Gimmighoul

Evolving Gimmighoul is a unique quest that revolves around collecting a special item: Gimmighoul Coins. Your goal is to gather 999 of them. These coins are dropped by Gimmighoul, which you can find throughout Paldea in two different forms.

• Chest Form Gimmighoul: These are the Gimmighoul you can battle and catch, typically found hiding atop watchtowers and in ruins. Defeating or catching one will reward you with a hefty sum of coins, often 50 or more. They respawn over time, so be sure to mark their locations on your map!
• Roaming Form Gimmighoul: These tiny, elusive Gimmighoul can't be battled. Instead, you'll find them perched on signs, rocks, and other landmarks. Simply interact with them, and they'll drop a few coins (usually 1 to 5) before disappearing. Keep your ears open for their distinct cry as you explore.

Hunting for both forms is the most efficient way to reach the 999 coin target. It's a treasure hunt that rewards dedicated trainers!

Once you've successfully gathered 999 Gimmighoul Coins, the hardest part is over! The coins will be stored in the 'TM Materials' section of your bag. To trigger the evolution, simply have the Gimmighoul you wish to evolve in your party and level it up.

You can level it up by any means: through battling, using an Exp. Candy, or a Rare Candy. As soon as it gains a level, the evolution sequence into Gholdengo will begin. Be aware that the 999 coins will be consumed in the process. If you want to evolve another Gimmighoul, you'll have to start the coin hunt all over again!
