How to Evolve Goomy

To evolve Goomy into Sliggoo, raise it to level 40. To evolve Sliggoo into Goodra, level it up to 50 or higher while it is actively raining in the overworld. Rain triggered by moves like Rain Dance or abilities like Drizzle during battle will not trigger the evolution.

Evolving Goomy requires a mix of standard leveling and environmental awareness. The process involves two distinct stages that remain consistent across mainline titles.

• Goomy to Sliggoo: Reach level 40.
• Sliggoo to Goodra: Reach level 50 or higher during natural overworld rain.

The requirement for overworld rain is absolute. Relying on battle mechanics will cause the evolution to fail.

In the Legends series, evolution is triggered manually from your menu rather than happening automatically after a battle. Weather conditions apply directly to the overworld environment.

1. Raise Goomy to level 40 through battles or EXP Candies.
2. Open your satchel and select Sliggoo to evolve it.
3. Raise Sliggoo to level 50.
4. Rest at a base camp to cycle the time of day until you see rain in the overworld.
5. Open your satchel while it is raining and trigger the final evolution.

Weather in the Paldea region is dynamic and cannot be manipulated by changing your console's clock. You must hunt for rain naturally in the overworld.

1. Level your Sliggoo to 49 or higher.
2. Travel to areas prone to rain, such as Casseroya Lake or North Province Area Two.
3. Wait in the overworld until rain begins to fall.
4. Feed Sliggoo an EXP Candy or Rare Candy to trigger the level-up immediately.

Do not use the Let's Go auto-battle feature to gain this level. Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet will not evolve from auto-battle experience.

The mobile game replaces standard leveling with Candy and specific module requirements. The weather mechanic is still present but offers a workaround.

1. Feed Goomy 25 Goomy Candy to evolve it into Sliggoo.
2. Collect another 100 Goomy Candy.
3. Wait for the in-game weather to show as Rainy, or place a Rainy Lure Module on a nearby PokéStop.
4. Select evolve from Sliggoo's summary screen.

Players frequently hit roadblocks when trying to get Goodra. Here are the most common issues and how to fix them.

• Using Rain Dance: In-battle weather moves or the Drizzle ability do not count. The rain must be falling in the overworld before the battle starts.
• Let's Go Auto-Battles: As mentioned, Scarlet and Violet block evolutions from auto-battles. Use a traditional battle or a candy.
• Rain Stopping: If the overworld rain stops exactly when your battle ends, the evolution will fail. Using a Rare Candy in the rain is the safest method.

However, it falls short in serious competitive formats. It lacks reliable recovery moves, and its physical defense leaves it vulnerable to common physical sweepers. Keep it on your team for the story, but look toward other Dragon-types for competitive laddering.
