How to Evolve Litwick

Litwick evolves into Lampent by reaching level 41 through battle experience or using Rare Candies. To complete the evolution line, you must then expose Lampent to a Dusk Stone to evolve it into Chandelure. You cannot use a Dusk Stone directly on Litwick.

Evolving Litwick requires a mix of patience and resource gathering. The process is split into two distinct, unavoidable phases.

• Stage 1: Litwick to Lampent requires reaching Level 41.
• Stage 2: Lampent to Chandelure requires using a Dusk Stone.
• Condition bypass: None. You cannot skip Lampent by using a Dusk Stone directly on Litwick.

2. Use Exp. Candies earned from urban raid encounters to push Litwick quickly to Level 41.
3. Once it evolves into Lampent, open your satchel and apply a Dusk Stone.

You can reliably find Dusk Stones by completing specific urban development requests or hunting for hidden items in the darker alleys of the city using your ride Pokémon.

The Paldea region and the Kitakami DLC make the leveling process incredibly streamlined thanks to Tera Raids and Let's Go mechanics. Grinding manual battles is entirely optional here.

1. Send Litwick out using the Let's Go feature to auto-battle low-level spawns in the Timeless Woods or near Montenevera.
2. Farm 4-star and 5-star Tera Raids to stockpile Exp. Candy L and Exp. Candy XL.
3. Feed the candies to Litwick until it hits Level 41 to trigger the Lampent evolution.

Niantic's mobile adaptation replaces traditional leveling and items with Candy and specific evolutionary stones. The Litwick line is a staple during Halloween events, making resource gathering much easier in October.

1. Catch multiple Litwick or use Pinap Berries to accumulate 25 Litwick Candy.
2. Tap evolve to turn Litwick into Lampent.
3. Gather an additional 100 Litwick Candy.
4. Acquire an Unova Stone by claiming your 7-day Field Research Breakthrough or winning PvP battles.
5. Spend the 100 Candy and the Unova Stone to evolve Lampent into Chandelure.

Make sure to appraise your Litwick before committing the Unova Stone. These stones are notoriously scarce, so save them for a Litwick with high IVs.

Players frequently run into a few specific hurdles when dealing with this two-stage Ghost/Fire line. The mechanics are simple, but sequence breaking causes immediate frustration.

• The Dusk Stone says "Incompatible": You are likely trying to use the Dusk Stone directly on Litwick. The stone only works on Lampent. You must reach level 41 first.

Players occasionally utilize its Infiltrator ability to bypass substitutes, hitting hard with Choice Specs boosted Overheat or Energy Ball. It can also function as a Trick Room setter or burn physical attackers with Will-O-Wisp.
