How to Evolve Machoke

Since the very first generation of Pokémon games, Machoke has had a special evolution requirement. Unlike Pokémon that evolve by reaching a certain level, Machoke evolves into Machamp only when it is traded to another player. The evolution process is triggered instantly upon the completion of the trade. This means you'll need a friend with their own game and console to help you out. Simply initiate a trade, send your Machoke to them, and watch it evolve on their screen. To get your new Machamp back, your friend will need to trade it back to you. Always make sure you're trading with someone you trust!

The developers introduced a game-changing item in Pokémon Legends: Arceus for players who might not have a trading partner readily available. The Linking Cord allows trade-evolution Pokémon like Machoke to evolve without needing another player. To use it, simply have the Linking Cord in your satchel and use it on your Machoke just as you would an Evolution Stone. Your Machoke will immediately evolve into Machamp. In Hisui, Linking Cords can often be purchased from the Merit Point exchange in Jubilife Village or found through other in-game events.
