How to Evolve Pancham

To evolve Pancham into Pangoro, raise it to level 32 or higher while having at least one Dark-type Pokémon in your active party. If you reach level 32 without a Dark-type companion, it will not evolve until it levels up again with the correct party composition.

Pangoro serves as a heavy-hitting physical attacker for standard story progression. Its high Attack stat easily clears mid-game hurdles, but its poor Speed and quadruple weakness to Fairy-type moves make it unviable in serious competitive formats.

The core evolution mechanic remains consistent across modern mainline titles, including Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. You must manage your party composition before triggering the level-up.

1. Place Pancham in your active party.
2. Add any Dark-type Pokémon to your active party alongside Pancham.
3. Raise Pancham to Level 32 or higher.
4. Trigger the level-up through standard battle experience, an EXP Candy, or a Rare Candy.

In Scarlet and Violet, remember that level-ups triggered via the Let's Go auto-battle feature will never initiate an evolution screen. You must use an item or finish a manual battle to trigger the change.

The mobile spin-off replaces party mechanics with the Buddy system. The requirement directly reflects the mainline level threshold.

1. Set Pancham as your active Buddy Pokémon.
2. Catch exactly 32 Dark-type Pokémon while Pancham remains your buddy.

• Wrong Companion Type: Ensure your party member is actually a Dark-type. Ghost-types or visually dark Pokémon like Luxray do not count. Check the summary screen for the specific Dark-type icon.
• Auto-Battle Block: In Scarlet and Violet, Pokémon cannot evolve if the level-up occurs during an auto-battle. Engage a wild Pokémon manually or feed Pancham a candy.
• Daycare or EXP Share Issues: Pancham must be in your active party. Leaving it in a PC box while it gains passive experience through Poké Jobs or similar background mechanics will bypass the evolution trigger.
