How to Evolve Pikipek

Evolving Pikipek requires straightforward leveling. It reaches its second stage, Trumbeak, at exactly level 14. You do not need any evolutionary stones, friendship thresholds, or specific times of day.

Trumbeak then evolves into Toucannon at level 28. This early final evolution threshold makes the entire line highly accessible during a standard playthrough.

Using the modern Exp. Share mechanics found in Generation 7 and Generation 9, keeping Pikipek in your active party will easily push it to level 28 before the mid-game. Rare Candies or Exp. Candies can instantly trigger these evolutions if you are building a competitive team post-game.

As a final evolution, Toucannon earns a 5/10 overall competitive rating. It functions strictly as a slow wallbreaker in lower tiers like PU or NU. A base 120 Attack stat allows it to hit incredibly hard, but its base 60 Speed leaves it outpaced by almost every offensive threat.

Toucannon cannot operate as a sweeper. It relies entirely on breaking defensive cores and punishing switch-ins. Higher-tier play easily punishes its poor bulk and glaring speed deficit.

Players looking for a fast Flying-type pivot should look toward Staraptor or Talonflame instead. Toucannon is exclusively for teams that can provide speed control, such as Sticky Web or Tailwind support, to compensate for its sluggishness.

Skill Link is the only viable ability for Toucannon. This ability guarantees that multi-strike moves hit exactly five times. This transforms base 25 power moves into reliable 125 base power attacks that effortlessly break Focus Sashes, Sturdy, and Substitute.

An optimal Moveset leverages this ability heavily:

• Bullet Seed: Provides crucial Grass-type coverage against Rock and Water-types.
• Rock Blast: Counters opposing Flying, Bug, and Ice-types.
• Beak Blast: The signature STAB move with 100 Base Power and utility.
