How to Evolve Ralts

Ralts evolves into Kirlia simply by reaching level 20 through combat or EXP candies. From Kirlia, the path splits: reach level 30 to evolve into Gardevoir, or use a Dawn Stone on a Male Kirlia at any level to evolve it into Gallade.

The Ralts family features a split evolution branch depending on gender and items.

• Ralts to Kirlia: Reach Level 20.
• Kirlia to Gardevoir: Reach Level 30 (applies to both male and female).
• Kirlia to Gallade: Use a Dawn Stone on a Male Kirlia. Level does not matter for this item evolution.

In the urban environment of Lumiose City, standard evolution mechanics apply alongside specific item acquisition methods.

1. Keep Ralts in your active party while completing urban research tasks to reach level 20.
2. Trigger the evolution manually from the party menu to obtain Kirlia.
3. For Gardevoir, continue leveling Kirlia to level 30 and trigger the evolution again.
4. For Gallade, obtain a Dawn Stone from the central trading post or specific space-time anomalies, then apply it directly to a Male Kirlia from your satchel.

Paldea offers rapid leveling methods, but introduces specific mechanical traps for evolving Pokémon.

1. Feed Ralts EXP Candies or use standard trainer battles until it hits level 20.
2. Do not use the Let's Go auto-battle feature for the final level up, as it blocks the evolution screen.
3. To get Gallade, pick up a fixed Dawn Stone behind the ruins in East Province (Area Three) or bid for one at the Porto Marinada Auction.
4. Select the Dawn Stone from your bag and use it on a Male Kirlia.

Mobile mechanics replace traditional leveling with species-specific candy accumulation.

• Feed Ralts 25 Ralts Candy to get Kirlia.
• Spend 100 Ralts Candy to evolve Kirlia into Gardevoir.
• Spend 100 Ralts Candy and 1 Sinnoh Stone on a Male Kirlia to get Gallade.

Players frequently encounter roadblocks when aiming for the Gallade branch.

• The Dawn Stone says Incompatible: Check your Kirlia's summary screen. The Dawn Stone only works on Male Kirlia. Female Kirlia are permanently locked into the Gardevoir path.
• Ralts reached level 20 but nothing happened: If you leveled up via the Let's Go auto-battle feature in Scarlet and Violet, the evolution will not trigger. Level up once more in a manual battle or with a Rare Candy.
• Holding an item: Ensure your Pokémon is not holding an Everstone, which completely halts level-based evolutions.

Neither evolution holds serious weight in modern competitive formats, but both dominate standard story playthroughs.

Gardevoir operates as a premier special wallbreaker. Its high Special Attack and Fairy/Psychic typing tear through late-game gyms. However, its physical bulk is non-existent, making it highly vulnerable to priority physical moves.

Gallade serves as a dedicated physical sweeper. The Psychic/Fighting typing provides excellent coverage, and access to the Sharpness ability significantly boosts slicing moves. Choose Gallade if your team lacks physical punch, but be prepared to manage its mediocre Speed stat.
