The 1,000-Step Let's Go Mechanic
Evolving Rellor requires the Let's Go mechanic introduced in Generation 9. You must press the R button to send
Rellor out of its Poké Ball to walk alongside your trainer.
The evolution triggers after
Rellor takes 1,000 cumulative steps in the overworld and then levels up. You cannot leave the game running idle; active directional movement is mandatory.
If you run too fast or use your mount's dash feature,
Rellor will fall behind and automatically return to its Poké Ball. While your previously accumulated steps are saved, you must send it out again to continue the process.
Best Locations for Uninterrupted Walking
Finding a safe, flat environment expedites the 1,000-step requirement. Towns with wide, open spaces prevent
Rellor from getting stuck on terrain geometry or falling off ledges.
Cascarrafa and Mesagoza are optimal locations for this method. Because wild Pokémon cannot spawn inside cities,
Rellor will not engage in auto-battles, which would otherwise interrupt your walking progress.
- Walk in wide circles near the Mesagoza central plaza.
- Run up and down the main ramps in Cascarrafa.
- Avoid the Asado Desert if you want a fast evolution, as wild spawns will constantly distract
Rellor.
Rabsca Competitive Verdict & Role
Rabsca operates as a highly specialized support Pokémon in VGC and doubles formats. Its Bug/Psychic typing offers poor defensive utility, leaving it vulnerable to common Dark, Ghost, and Fire threats.
Despite these flaws,
Rabsca earns a 6/10 competitive rating strictly due to its access to Revival Blessing and Trick Room. With a sluggish Base 45 Speed, it functions perfectly inside Trick Room conditions while reviving fainted allies.
Its Base 115 Special Attack prevents it from being entirely passive on the field.
Rabsca can deal respectable chip damage with Bug Buzz or Psychic after setting up speed control for its slower teammates.
Pros, Cons, and Team Fit
Rabsca fits best on dedicated Trick Room teams that need a secondary setter capable of bringing a heavy hitter back to life. Players running fast hyper-offense teams should avoid using
Rabsca entirely.
- Pros: Access to Revival Blessing, immunity to Spore and Rage Powder via Safety Goggles, solid Special Attack stat.
- Cons: Terrible defensive typing, low physical bulk, severely outclassed by
Cresselia or
Farigiraf as a reliable Trick Room setter.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rellor's Evolution
Does riding Koraidon or Miraidon count towards Rellor's steps?
Yes, but you must move slowly. If you use the dash ability, Rellor despawns and returns to its ball. Your accumulated steps are saved, but you must send it out again to finish the 1,000-step requirement.
How do I know when Rellor has reached 1,000 steps?
The game provides no on-screen tracker or notification for step counts. You must estimate the distance yourself, which typically takes about three to five minutes of continuous walking in a wide circle.
Can Rellor evolve using Rare Candies or EXP Candies?
Yes. Once you complete the 1,000 steps in Let's Go mode, you can immediately use a Rare Candy or an EXP Candy to trigger the level up and initiate the evolution sequence.
Does Rellor need to hold a specific item to evolve?
No held item is required. The evolution relies entirely on the Let's Go step count mechanic combined with a subsequent level increase.
