How to Evolve Seedot

Seedot evolves into Nuzleaf automatically after reaching level 14 through battle experience or candies. To evolve Nuzleaf into Shiftry, you must use a Leaf Stone from your bag. The Leaf Stone triggers the final evolution instantly, requiring no trading or specific time of day.

Getting Shiftry requires a straightforward two-step process that mixes level grinding with item application. You cannot skip the middle stage under any circumstances.

• Nuzleaf to Shiftry: Use a Leaf Stone.

Shiftry offers a solid Grass/Dark typing for early story progression. It lacks the stats for serious competitive play but functions as a reliable Chlorophyll user during standard playthroughs where opposing speed tiers are lower.

Unlike older generations where Stone evolutions stopped learning moves, modern games allow Shiftry to remember earlier moves at any time. You should evolve Nuzleaf the exact moment you acquire a Leaf Stone to benefit from Shiftry's higher base stats immediately.

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the evolution mechanics mirror the traditional mainline games but integrate Kalos-specific item acquisition methods. You must trigger the evolution manually from your party menu.

1. Keep Seedot in your active party and battle wild Pokémon in the Lumiose City outskirts until it hits level 14.
2. Open your satchel, select the glowing Poké Ball icon next to Seedot, and trigger the evolution to obtain Nuzleaf.
3. Acquire a Leaf Stone by exchanging Merit Points at the Trading Post or finding one during urban exploration events.
4. Select the Leaf Stone from your satchel and apply it directly to Nuzleaf to complete the sequence.

Do not wait to use the Leaf Stone. Shiftry can learn its core moves via the move tutor or TM equivalents in Lumiose City, meaning early evolution does not restrict its offensive movepool.

Seedot makes its Paldean debut via the Kitakami region in The Teal Mask DLC. You can catch it early on the Apple Hills paths, making it highly accessible for new DLC playthroughs.

1. Feed Seedot Exp. Candies or use it in manual battles until it reaches level 14.
2. Allow the evolution animation to play out to receive Nuzleaf.
3. Travel to any Delibird Presents store in Mesagoza, Levincia, or Cascarrafa.
4. Purchase a Leaf Stone for 3,000 Pokédollars (this item unlocks in the shop after you obtain 3 Gym Badges).
5. Open your bag, navigate to the Other Items pocket, and use the Leaf Stone on Nuzleaf.

If you lack Gym Badges, you can also find a guaranteed Leaf Stone in Tagtree Thicket. Look for the red Poké Ball item drops near the painted trees in the northern section of the Paldea map.

Farming 3-star Tera Raids in Kitakami yields enough Exp. Candies to push Seedot to level 14 in minutes, bypassing the need for wild encounters entirely.

The mobile spin-off discards levels and evolution stones for the Seedot family. You only need to stockpile Seedot Candy to progress through the stages.

1. Collect 25 Seedot Candy to evolve Seedot into Nuzleaf.
2. Gather an additional 100 Seedot Candy to evolve Nuzleaf into Shiftry.

Use Pinap Berries during every Seedot encounter to double your candy yield from three to six. Setting Seedot or Nuzleaf as your Buddy Pokémon generates one candy per 3 kilometers walked.

During specific events like Community Days or Grass-type focuses, Seedot spawn rates increase drastically. Prioritize these windows to farm the 125 total candies required in a single afternoon.

• Holding an Everstone: If Seedot is holding an Everstone, it will never reach the Nuzleaf stage regardless of its level. Remove the item from its summary screen.
• Accidental B-Button presses: Pressing B during the level 14 evolution animation cancels the process. You must level it up one more time to trigger the prompt again.

In Scarlet and Violet, auto-battles via the Let's Go feature will not trigger the evolution screen. You must gain the final experience points through a manual battle or an Exp. Candy.

In Pokémon GO, if the evolve button is greyed out despite having 125 total candies, ensure you have a stable GPS connection. The game requires server validation to process the evolution, and poor signal will block the action.

Shiftry functions excellently during a standard story playthrough, especially if you build a team around the sunny weather condition. Its Chlorophyll ability doubles its speed in harsh sunlight, turning it into a fast physical or mixed attacker.

Teach Shiftry Leaf Blade and Knock Off for reliable STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) damage. Sucker Punch provides crucial priority to bypass its average base speed when the sun is not active on the field.

However, Shiftry holds absolutely no viability in Smogon competitive tiers for Scarlet and Violet. Its Grass/Dark typing saddles it with seven weaknesses, including a devastating quadruple weakness to Bug-type moves like U-turn.

Its base defenses are too fragile to survive priority moves like Ice Shard or First Impression. For serious ranked battles, players heavily favor Meowscarada, which shares the same typing but boasts vastly superior speed, the Protean ability, and the guaranteed critical hit signature move Flower Trick.
