How to Evolve Sliggoo

Evolving Sliggoo is a memorable task for any trainer, as it doesn't rely on a simple level-up. To transform this Dragon-type Pokémon into its final form, Goodra, you must meet a specific and thematic condition. First, your Sliggoo must be at least Level 50. Second, the level-up must occur while it is raining in the game's overworld.

This unique requirement has been consistent since Sliggoo's introduction in Generation VI. The rain must be natural weather in the area you are in; weather conditions induced by moves like Rain Dance or Abilities like Drizzle during a battle will not work. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, this condition is expanded to include foggy weather as well.

Finding a rainy area is the key to evolving your Sliggoo. In games like Pokémon Sword & Shield or Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, many routes and areas have dynamic weather patterns. You can often fly to different locations on the map to check the current weather or simply wait for it to change. Areas like the Glimwood Tangle in Galar or the North Province (Area Three) in Paldea are known for frequent rain.

Once you're in a rainy location and your Sliggoo is Level 49 or higher, simply have it gain a level. You can do this through battling wild Pokémon, using an Exp. Candy, or a Rare Candy. As soon as it levels up to 50 or beyond in the rain, the evolution sequence into Goodra will begin.
