How to Evolve Slowpoke

The original Slowpoke from the Kanto region has two distinct evolutionary paths, a feature it has had since Generation II. As you can see in the Evolution Chain widget below, these methods are quite different.

To evolve Slowpoke into Slowbro, its first and most common evolution, you simply need to raise it to level 37. No special items or conditions are required, making it a straightforward process in any core series game.

To obtain the regal Slowking, you'll need two things: a King's Rock and a friend to trade with. Give the King's Rock to your Slowpoke to hold, and then trade it. The trade will trigger the evolution, and your friend will have to trade it back to you.

With the introduction of the Galar region in Pokémon Sword and Shield, Galarian Slowpoke was introduced with its own unique evolutions. These evolutions are item-based and do not depend on leveling or trading.

To evolve Galarian Slowpoke into the sharpshooting Galarian Slowbro, you need an item called the Galarica Cuff. This item can be crafted on the Isle of Armor by an NPC who asks for 8 Galarica Twigs.

To get the mysterious Galarian Slowking, you'll require a Galarica Wreath. Similar to the cuff, this item is crafted by an NPC in the Crown Tundra, this time in exchange for 15 Galarica Twigs. Simply use the correct item on your Galarian Slowpoke from your bag to trigger the evolution.
