How to Evolve Steenee

To evolve Steenee into Tsareena, you must level it up while it knows the move Stomp. Steenee naturally learns Stomp at level 28. If you skipped learning it, open your Pokémon's summary screen, select the move management option, remember Stomp, and level up Steenee one more time.

Evolving Steenee abandons standard level-based progression in favor of a move-based mechanic. You must actively manage your moveset to trigger the transformation.

• Target Pokémon: Tsareena
• Required Move: Stomp
• Level Requirement: Level 28 (to learn Stomp naturally)
• Trigger Action: Level up once while Stomp is actively equipped in the current moveset

If you catch a high-level Steenee in the wild, it might not have Stomp equipped. You will need to manually intervene via the game menus before wasting time grinding levels.

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, move management is entirely player-controlled via the menu system. You do not need to visit a specific NPC to remember forgotten moves.

1. Open your satchel and navigate to Steenee in your party.
2. Select the option to Change Moves.
3. Find Stomp in the reserve move pool and swap it into Steenee's active four moves.
4. Use an Exp. Candy or engage in a battle to level Steenee up.
5. Trigger the evolution manually from the party menu once the prompt appears.

Since evolutions do not happen automatically at the end of battles in the Legends format, you must initiate the sequence yourself. Make sure Stomp remains equipped until the evolution is complete.

In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the process is streamlined but contains a specific trap regarding the Let's Go feature. Steenee will attempt to learn Stomp at level 28.

1. Raise Steenee to level 28 using battles or Exp. Candies.
2. When prompted, choose to forget an old move and learn Stomp.
3. If Steenee is already past level 28, open its summary screen, press right to reach the Moves tab, and select Remember Moves to re-equip Stomp.
4. Level up Steenee one more time in a standard, manual trainer or wild Pokémon battle.

Do not use the Let's Go auto-battle feature for this final level up. Earning enough experience to level up via auto-battles explicitly blocks all evolution triggers in the Paldea region.

The mobile spin-off ignores the Stomp requirement entirely. In Pokémon GO, the evolution relies strictly on resource gathering rather than moveset management.

1. Collect 100 Bounsweet Candies.
2. Navigate to Steenee's profile screen in your storage.
3. Tap the Evolve button.

To farm these candies efficiently, use Pinap Berries when catching wild Bounsweet or Steenee. Setting Steenee as your Buddy Pokémon will also generate candy as you walk.

Players frequently encounter roadblocks when trying to get Tsareena. If your Steenee is gaining levels but remaining unevolved, check these common issues.

• The Auto-Battle Lock: In Scarlet and Violet, Pokémon cannot evolve if the level-up occurs during a Let's Go auto-battle. Engage a wild Pokémon manually or feed Steenee a Rare Candy.
• Stomp is in the Reserve Pool: Merely having Stomp in Steenee's learnset history is not enough. The move must be actively slotted into one of its four usable move slots during the level-up.
• Holding an Everstone: Verify that Steenee is not holding an Everstone. This held item forcefully cancels all evolution attempts, overriding the Stomp requirement.

For an in-game story playthrough, Tsareena is a highly dependable physical attacker. Its signature ability, Queenly Majesty, blocks all incoming priority moves like Quick Attack or Sucker Punch, making it incredibly safe against aggressive NPC trainers.

However, Tsareena falls completely flat in serious competitive environments. It lacks the base speed required to function as a dedicated sweeper, and its typing leaves it vulnerable to common offensive threats. It is outclassed by faster, more versatile physical Grass-types.

Keep Tsareena for your single-player journey where its high Attack stat and signature move, Trop Kick, can reliably dismantle gym leaders. Do not invest resources into building one for high-ladder ranked battles.
