How to Evolve Timburr

To evolve Timburr, raise it to level 25 using battle experience or Rare Candies to become Gurdurr. To obtain the final evolution, Conkeldurr, you must trade Gurdurr to another player. The evolution sequence triggers immediately upon the recipient receiving the Pokémon.

Players typically execute a "tradeback" with a trusted friend to register Conkeldurr in their own Pokédex and retain the trained Pokémon. Ensure Gurdurr is not holding an Everstone during the transfer, as this item hard-codes the game to cancel trade evolutions.

Game Freak provides alternate evolution methods in specific titles. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, trading is optional; applying a Linking Cord directly to Gurdurr triggers the evolution instantly. This self-inflicted status also grants immunity to other crippling ailments. Opponents cannot inflict Sleep, Paralysis, or Toxic poison on a Pokémon that is already burned, allowing Conkeldurr to absorb status moves aimed at your team's defensive pivots.

Conkeldurr excels against defensive cores but requires specific team support to mitigate its flaws. It is an excellent choice for bulky offense teams needing a dedicated stallbreaker.

To maximize Conkeldurr's lifespan, pair it with slow pivots. Pokémon like Slowbro (using Teleport) or Corviknight (using U-turn) can absorb incoming attacks and bring Conkeldurr onto the field safely without taking entry hazard or direct attack damage.

The standard Guts wallbreaker set focuses on balancing longevity with immediate damage. An Adamant nature with an EV spread of 252 HP / 252 Attack / 4 Special Defense provides maximum bulk while pushing its Attack stat to its absolute limit.
